Director Jon Watts took to the stage and presented some new footage of the film that’s only a few weeks into production. Watts described the film as a ‘straight-up high school movie’that offers a street-level view of the MCU.
The footage shown, according to various live-tweets, was set to Joan Jett’s Bad Reputation, and included scenes of Peter Parker making web fluid in high school science class, Peter wincing when girls talk about crushes on the Avengers, and having to get out of class to save the day.
The footage also confirmed that Spider-Man will face off against The Vulture in the ultimate battle of the film. Concept art of the two was feature during the panel and was released online today.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is slated to hit theaters on July 7, 2017.
