SALE: Ultimate X-Men Marvel Monday Digital Sale

By Joshua Lazarus

ComiXology Sale Marvel Mondays

A whole bunch of Ultimate X-Men comics are on sale today over at ComiXology.

You can buy the bundle -which includes all 143 issues that are on sale- for $100. If you don’t want to throw down that much money, or just want to buy particular issues or runs on the title, each issue is on sale for 99 cents apiece.

If you don’t know where to start, I suggest starting with the original Millar/Kubert run at issue #1, and reading through the end of Brian Michael Bendis‘s run on the title, which concluded with issue #45. The title kind of spiraled downward for a while, even with amazing writers on the title. It gets really dark and (more) depressing for a few years. I suggest starting again with Brian Wood‘s run on the title, which starts in Ultimate Comics: X-Men #13 and ends right before the Cataclysm tie-ins with issue #33.

The only kind of important piece this sale is missing is the Jeph Loeb/Art Adams Ultimate X series. It was supposed to be an ongoing, but insane delays on the book makes this feel like the setup for a completely different direction than how the Ultimate Comics relaunch sent the series. The book is amazing though, and introduces (also reintroduces) mutants and mutantkind in the aftermath of the Ultimatum event.

You can kind of just read the Wikipedia summaries for the stuff that happens in between those runs I talked about.
