CBTVB: SyFy’s ‘Krypton’ Series Casts Adam Strange

By Muuka Muyumba

Shaun Sipos has been cast as the classic DC Comics hero Adam Strange in the upcoming SyFy Superman prequel Krypton.

Adam Strange is a classic science fiction superhero created by Julius Schwartz and Murphy Anderson during the more pulp comic days of 1958. Strange was a hero more along the lines of ‘John Carter from Mars’ or ‘Flash Gordon’. He is teleported to the planet Rann through Zeta-Beam and would use a jetpack and energy weapon to fight the bad guys. In the newest incarnation of the comics, Strange has played a role as a primary scientist and interplanetary explorer of the Justice League.

The character has yet to appear in any incarnation of DC Comics’ live-action properties. However, Adam Strange (as voiced by Michael Trucco) had a large role in the 2nd season of Young Justice: Invasion story arc when he discover that Rann has a bounty on all the Justice League after an attack on Rimbor.

Sipos will likely be featured as a guest star in a recurring role as Krypton has to find some allusion to Earth to guarantee a future with Superman. Creator David S. Goyer also promises other DC characters like Brainiac and Martian Manhunter.

The series still does not have a release date.
