Entertainment Weekly has given us our first look at the future for Misty Knight (Simone Missick). We have been teased with the possibility of Misty losing her right arm since her character was introduced in season one of the Netflix/Marvel streaming smash hit Luke Cage.

In the comics, Misty loses her right arm while defusing a bomb whereas Missick’s character lost her’s while battling with The Hand’s Bakuto (Ramon Rodriguez) during the climax of The Defenders.

Luke (Mike Colter) looks to be teaming up with Misty for action in season 2 of Luke Cage, which is currently filming its 13 episodes to debut on Netflix some time next year. Cage and the Defenders are basking in the glow of the recent record-setting debut of the team up series 2 weeks ago. The Defenders saw Cage, Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Daredevil (Charlie Cox), and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) all team up to take down The Hand who was threatening the lives of New Yorkers.

During The Defenders, Misty Knight got moved up to a special division in the NYPD, so her days in Harlem were effectively over. So, we’ll have to see just how Misty will play into Luke storyline as he returns to the neighborhood after rumors of Black Mariah (Alfre Woodard) running rough-shod over Harlem’s elites. Throughout the Defenders series we got several (literal) signs pointed to Luke having to return to Harlem to combat Mariah and her lackey Shades (Theo Rossi) as they angle to buy up more of the neighborhood and squeeze the downtrodden out.

Misty may also dispense some extra-judicial power as she gets rid of her badge to work with Luke to navigate Harlem by the looks of this photo. The future of the character may also see her team up with Iron Fist’s paramour Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) as a new vigilante team, The Daughters of the Dragon, which has been a popular fan theory.
