CBTVB: Marvel and ABC to Give us Double the Agent Carter Fun on January 6

Marvel Entertainment and ABC have announced today that the series premiere of Agent Carter has been bumped up from a one hour event to two hours! Originally slated as an eight-episode event series, Marvel’s Agent Carter will now have just seven episodes, including the extended premiere.

Starring Hayley Atwell, Agent Carter follows Peggy as she navigates a world after the war, and after losing the love of her life, Steve Rogers. Agent Carter is snatched up by Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper) to help him run a fledgling S.H.I.E.L.D. This show is set up to seed the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) retroactively as showrunners Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters as tasked with filling the backstory of S.H.I.E.L.D., Hydra, and the Avengers Initiative.

The show is also set to feature a cast full of experienced actors like Chad Michael Murray as SSR Agent Jack Thompson, Enver Gjokaj as SSR Agent Daniel Sousa, James D’Arcy as Edwin Jarvis, and Shea Whigham as SSR Chief Roger Dooley, Marvel’s Agent Carter was written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Executive producers along with Butters and Fazekas, include Markus, McFeely, Chris Dingess, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Joe Quesada, Stan Lee and Jeph Loeb.

Marvel’s Agent Carter is set to premiere on January 6, 2015 in the timeslot for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. during that show’s hiatus.
