Man of Steel director Zack Snyder acknowledged that he included an Easter egg of Supergirl in the film, but there was no mention of Supergirl’s involvement beyond that film. However, it was clear that Snyder intended on including Kara Zor-El in the Man of Steel mythos when he showed one of the Kryptonian stasis pods open and empty as Clark investigated his familial history.

Berlanti’s development on Supergirl adds to his list of DC Entertainment shows already in production, including Arrow and The Flash. Berlanti has even hinted that the world of Supergirl could cross over with The Arrow and The Flash since CBS owns The CW.

Warner Bros. Television declined comment to TheWrap.
