CBTVB: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. May Introduce a New Version of Ghost Rider

By Muuka Muyumba

Last week, a news story emerged that Marvel is working on bringing a version of Ghost Rider. A TVLine story revealed that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has casting call notices for 3 characters: an LMD (life model decoy) named ‘Aida’, and two characters that sound like Robbie and Gabe Reyes.

The Reyes brothers were introduced in a 12-issue run in March 2014 where the brothers fused into an ethereal being with Gabe confined to a wheelchair. The characters were created by Felipe Smith and Tradd Moore.

“This much I can tell you: LMDs are happening. Specifically, the ABC series at this time is looking to cast the recurring role of Aida, a “very attractive” robot (because after all, why make a homely one?) who moves about quite naturally but speaks a bit formally, like Iron Man’s Jarvis,” said TVLine’s Matt Webb Mitovich, citing an unnamed source. “Also to be introduced in Season 4: a pair of Latino brothers, one of whom is always the most dangerous person in the room, the other paralyzed in a wheelchair.”

I, for one, believed that the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. promos that have been making their way around San Diego in anticipation of Comic-Con were only a reference to the season 3 Inhuman Hellfire who used a flaming chain last season to fend off assailant. This may have been an Easter Egg for the coming season.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. comes back for the 4th season on September 20 on ABC, Tuesdays at 9 PM.
