CBMB: Unlikely Hulk Easter Egg in Ant-Man!

By Muuka Muyumba

Ant-Man has only been in production since last week but an eagle-eyed observer already picked up on a Marvel nugget that is characteristic of their cinematic universe. While filming in the Tenderloin in San Francisco, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang was filmed walking up the street to either an apartment or office in the down-trodden hippie haven.

On the wall of one of the buildings was an advert for the nefarious Brazilian pop drink that we first saw in The Incredible Hulk during Stan Lee‘s cameo. SPOILER ALERT: In The Incredible Hulk, General Ross and the Hulkbusters¬†are able to track down Bruce Banner’s whereabouts after a report of an elderly man in Wisconsin drinking some gamma-infused pop by mistake.

Pingo Doce is now to the Marvel Cinematic Universe Marvel what Slush-O is to the Bad Robot universe, except real. This may also be an indication of just where Ant-Man falls in the Avengers Initiative timeline, at least in this segment of the film.

We’ll have to wait and see whether the two movie have any more of a direct connection. Ant-Man is due out on July 17, 2015.
