CBMB: The Wonder Woman Synopsis Reveals Geoff Johns Involvement

By Muuka Muyumba

Wonder Woman is set to make a big splash later this month at San Diego Comic-Con after Warners announced a huge presence in Hall H.

Now, we’ve learned that Wonder Woman also had some surprising changes to its creative lineup as a new synopsis debuted with a notable change to the writing staff. Previously, Jason Fuchs had been the sole credited writer for the film, but now a press release for Comic-Con shows that the screen play was written by Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns, from a story by Justice League director Zack Snyder and Heinberg.

Heinberg is an unknown property to superhero films having written on shows like Sex and the City, The O.C., and Grey’s Anatomy. Johns is DC Comics’ chief creative officer, but is now flexing his muscle in the DC Films universe with an infusion of his comic book knowledge, and creative direction of making films with more fun, humor, and heart.

“Wonder Woman” hits movie theaters around the world next summer when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

Wonder Woman hits theaters on June 2, 2017, and stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Saïd Taghmaoui, Lucy Davis, David Thewlis, Robin Wright, Connie Neilsen, and Ewen Bremner.
