CBMB: The First Poster for Spider-Man: Homecoming Pops Up Online
By Muuka Muyumba
Spider-Man: Homecoming doesn’t hit theaters until next July, but a teaser poster has emerged as Instagram user @frightrags shared a photo of the poster in a vlog post.
Apparently, the poster showed up at a fashion trade show in Las Vegas. Interestingly, we see markings on the poster that reveal Marvel as the creative force behind the film, but not indications that Sony will appear anywhere in the promotional materials. Marvel and Sony signed an historic deal in the film industry to have Marvel handle the creative and production development on Spider-Man movies, to include him in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, all while Sony retains the proprietary rights of the character.
We haven’t been privvy to any footage yet from the movie in the mode of a teaser trailer, but Marvel is clearly moving confidently to re-launching the wall-crawler in the MCU.
Homecoming is currently shooting in Atlanta at Pinewood Studios and star Tom Holland as Peter Parker. Jon Watts is directing the film and will center on Peter’s life in high school as he deals with the threat of The Vulture (Michael Keaton) and rumored co-opted Chitauri technology.
