“Ok, yes,” was the statement from Tony Stark himself after much prodding from talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. After rumors, speculation and jokes about Mel Gibson, Robert Downey, Jr. has finally confirmed that “Iron Man 4” is indeed in the works.

While promoting his upcoming drama The Judge, Downey said “I know there’s going to be more Marvel movies, and they have big ideas of how to do it best,” Downey hedged at first. “We’re in the middle of negotiations, blah blah blah.”

Downey’s news comes on the heels of rampant rumors that Marvel has massive plans in store for the cinematic universe that could see Avengers 3 with none of the established heroes. The current Avengers may have their own movie planned to complete their run. However, this news doesn’t really give us any idea where this Iron Man movie may fit in the future plans.

The idea of another Iron Man is not crazy considering that the franchise has made $2,418,696,729 worldwide. So, we will be gearing up for another Iron Avenger film, but no word on ewhether this will be the last we will see of Downey in the suit.

Avengers: Age of Ultron will be in theaters on May 1, 2015.
