CBMB: Possible Suicide Squad Cast Details Revealed (SPOILERS)

By Muuka Muyumba

El Mayimbe and Heroic Hollywood are reporting that they have knowledge of the purported roles for two Suicide Squad actors that have yet to be publicly revealed.

First, after recent on-set shots of Oscar-winning songwriter/actor Common emerged showing him tattooed from at least head to neck, many jumped on the idea of him playing The Tattooed Man from the comics.  In the comics, The Tattooed Man aka Abel Tarrant, aka John Oakes, aka Mark Richards, ironically is a Green Lantern villain with the ability to bring to life his many tattoos on his body with his mental abilities.  Clearly, his powers suggest being a worthy opponent of a Green Lantern who must also manifest his power through his mind.  If true, this is a major step down for a guy once set to play Green Lantern in George Miller’s Justice League: Mortal, but also may suggest that we get an allusion to Green Lantern in Suicide Squad.

Second, and maybe most importantly, the report alleges that they now know that Scott Eastwood is playing a soldier (who we’ve already seen as a military figure in Task Force X) with the last name Wilson. HH deduces that the Wilson surname means he may be playing Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke eventually in the future DC Universe films. They do not have confirmation on this rumor, only speculating after confirming the surname of the character.

These are fun revelation, but far from extraordinary unless Eastwood’s role becomes much more expansive within the Justice League or Batman franchises. One thing that we now know is that if a major character is brought into DC’s film world, we will no longer see them on TV (see Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Amanda Waller, and Suicide Squad for verification), so don’t expect to see Manu Bennett return to Arrow as Deathstroke if this Eastwood rumor is indeed true.

I think what we can take from all of this is that Arrow is getting ruined now that Suicide Squad is coming out on the big screen. Expect season 4 to be a reboot. Suicide Squad  comes out in theaters on August 5, 2017.
