CBMB: Michael Douglas Working on Coming Back for ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’

By Muuka Muyumba

Ant-Man is heading for home video release and some new details of the production of the original and the upcoming sequel are emerging. Collider recently spoke with star Michael Douglas about his experience on the first film, and he acknowledged that he is in discussions with Marvel to return for Ant-Man and the Wasp.

The film will bring back the pint-sized Avenger along with his new sidekick (or more appropriately, partner) Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) aka Hope Van Dyne. Hope was given the Wasp prototype that Hank and his wife Janet had been working on before she disappeared into the Quantum Realm.

Douglas does have one request for the sequel that is Hank won’t be quite as “expositional”, meaning he had to do a lot of science-fiction babble to explain his suit, and the plan to keep that suit out of the hands of the villains. However, he also acknowledged that it was pretty cool to have a movie already slated for 2018.

Director Peyton Reed is returning along with Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Wasp, and if Doulgas has his way, then Darren Cross (Corey Stoll) who was crushed into another reality.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is currently slated to be released on July 6th, 2018.
