The character is the creation of Hugo winner G. Willow Wilson, and Marvel editor Sana Amanat in 2015 to much fanfare and acclaim. Rarely had Marvel premiered characters created by two women, but never had Marvel created a Muslim hero created by two Muslim women. The character was social statement on the love of Peter Parker. No word on when the movie might come out, but maybe as part of Marvel’s phase 4.
