Very early today, director James Gunn tweeted out the first bit of concept art from the highly-anticipated sequel to Marvel’s smash cosmic hit of 2014.

This image gives us the first glimpse of the newest Guardian Mantis (Pom Klementieff) who is described as someone who “…has never really experienced social interaction,” says executive producer Jonathan Schwartz. “Everything she learns about dealing with people, she learns from the Guardians of the Galaxy, which is a very weird group to learn your social intricacies from.”

What’s also new is that Nebula (Karen Gillan) may have switched sides and joined the heroes. However, you can never been too sure about Nebula who will remain a fly in the ointment for the Guardians.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Marvel will release the group portrait, drawn by Andy Park, as a special commemorative item for fans attending San Diego’s Comic-Con next weekend.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 stars Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, Dave Bautista as Drax, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, and Vin Diesel as Groot with Kurt Russell and Elizabeth Debicki in unknown roles. The film is slated to hit theaters on May 5, 2017.
