CBMB: Edgar Ramirez Up for a Role in Doctor Strange

By Muuka Muyumba

Reports are that Edgar Ramirez (Wrath of the Titans, Zero Dark Thirty, and The Bourne Ultimatum) is in consideration for a role in Dr. Strange. Ramirez spoke with IGN and said that he had been in talks about a potential role in director Scott Derrickson‘s future Marvel film.  Ramirez has a prior relationship with Derrickson having been featured in the upcoming Deliver Us From Evil.

Benedict Cumberbatch, Jared Leto, and Tom Hardy are rumored to be at the top of Marvel’s shortlist to play Dr. Strange. Speculation is that Ramirez could be up for a supporting role, but don’t be surprised if he is chosen if the “a-listers” pass. Chris Hemsworth (Thor) comes to mind when considering Marvel’s track record for establishing stars.
