CBMB: Bryan Singer Gives Us Our First Glimpses of the Age of Apocalypse

By Muuka Muyumba

X-Men: Age of Apocalypse director Bryan Singer gave the world their first look at some of the set and the designs of the upcoming follow up to X-Men: Days of Future Past. Singer appears to have found his groove with the franchise after his hiatus in Metropolis. Despite the massive success of Days of Future Past, Singer had a tumultuous 2014 after having to deal with allegations of sexual abuse, charges that were later dropped.

Now, Singer is jumping back in with both feet and attempting to build on the franchise that bounced back with the introduction of a younger core group of James McAvoy as Professor X, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, and Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique. However, reports came out this week that Sir Ian McKellen would return as a Magneto in Apocalypse, while Patrick Stewart will reprise his role as Professor X alongside Hugh Jackman with his story will be tied to Wolverine’s next solo mission, but just when in the timeline is still at question.

The look of the film will be a slightly updated from the ’70s of course as the design suggests a bit more War Games this time around. Clearly, as production ramps up Singer’s Montreal sets are getting built and starting to take shape on a new Cerebro.

X-Men: Apocalypse will be in theaters with a new look on May 27, 2016 and the next Wolverine solo film is set for March 3, 2017.
