By Muuka Muyumba

Marvel Entertainment has posted a teaser video for tomorrow’s trailer for the upcoming blockbuster Infinity War with a big nod to their fans. The footage splices together vids from fans touting their anticipation for and reactions to Marvel Cinematic Universe trailers. The film’s directors had been posting teases on Instagram about the trailer dropping but this confirms exactly when we’re getting it.

Avengers: Infinity War will be the culmination of Marvel Studios’ plan since 2008: to build a universe of films of diverse Marvel heroes (mostly B-list), intertwining them in various storylines with nods to the source material, and ending with a clash versus the biggest bad in Marvel comics history, Thanos the Mad Titan (Josh Brolin). In the films, the MCU has been focused on Tony Stark and his family’s impact on the world in the 20th and 21st centuries. The Starks pushed technology to meet the threats that came to Earth at various times in history starting with the discovery of the Tesseract during World War II.

Infinity War could tell the end of the tale. What will happen when the ultimate power of the Infinity Gauntlet meets the Mad Titan? Can the Avengers stop Thanos from gathering all the Infinity Stones or will they be able to protect Earth once he gets them?

The film brings together the original Avengers, Robert Downey Jr./Iron Man, Chris Evans/Captain America, Mark Ruffalo/Hulk, Jeremy Renner/Hawkeye, Chris Hemsworth/Thor and Scarlett Johansson/Black Widow. The originals are joined by Anthony Mackie/Falcon, Paul Bettany/The Vision, Don Cheadle/War Machine, Evangeline Lilly/Wasp, Chadwick Boseman/Black Panther, Elizabeth Olsen/Scarlet Witch, Paul Rudd/Ant-Man, Gwenyth Paltrow/Pepper Potts, Tom Holland/Spider-Man, Chris Pratt/Star-Lord and Benedict Cumberbatch/Doctor Strange, among several other recurring heroes revealed in a recent Vanity Fair spread.

The MCU is also celebrating 10 years of movie-making in 2018 which puts a fitting bow on something that’s was just a twinkle in the eye of president Kevin Feige in 2006.

Infinity War hits theaters on May 4, 2018.
