Warners has dated nine untitled DC movies between 2016 and 2020 and needs content to fill these slots. As many have suggested, both DC and Marvel are in active development on most of their superhero titles, so an Aquaman project is not huge news. However, this confirms that Aquaman is definitely part of Warners’ future projects, and much more likely to be part of either Batman v Superman and/or Justice League.

Rumors have been swirling of late that Jason Momoa is still a front-runner for the role of Aqueman, but no confirmation has emerged of his casting despite several reports.

Both Beall and Johnstad have been part of Warners’ familiar stable of scribes with Beall having written a version of Justice League before the project was made part of the DC movie future plans.
