Advance Comic Preview: The Accelerators Momentum #2

Get ready to hurdle through time with The Accelerators: Momentum #2 when it hits shelves on June 24, from creator and writer R.F.I. Porto and artists Gavin P. Smith and Tim Yates. The main characters have been jumping further in the future using the “time doughnut”, with still unknown origins, and only the ability to move forward, and not backward through time.

When last we left the rag tag cast of misfits, they had only narrowly escaped multiple timelines that only brought them more questions, and mortal peril. The scientist Alexa and the military man Bertram are both from 1965, and have taken the mall rat Spatz from 1991 along for their crazy adventure through time. They made it to a terrible time where time travel was used for blood sport entertainment, ruled by the malevolent Bob and her army of cloned workers. Now Bob, as well as one of the clones, and a very hostile cyborg roman soldier, are all on the run through time to try and get some answers, and possible get back home. They narrowly escaped a horde of monsters in the future of 2100, and time jumped once more with the help of Spatz’s innate ability to utilize the mysterious time device.

Now, they find themselves at the forefront of a huge battle taking place, without knowing which, if either, side is friendly! Will they survive this new timeline? Will they be able to continue to jump forward in time until they find a way to jump back? What about Bob’s secrets that she is holding from the group, especially about what Spatz becomes in the future? Check out issue 2 of The Accelerators:Momentum which will be out in beautiful full color from Blue Juice Comics. Both my parents instilled in me at an early age the awesome power and incredible wonder of the written word. My father sat with me when I was four years old and taught me to enjoy reading with classic comic strips like SPIDERMAN, PEANUTS, B.C. and, later, CALVIN AND HOBBES. My mother exposed me to such classics of literature as Poe, Tolkien, Stoker and Doyle, and I started my own comic collection with allowance money from mowing lawns. I liked Wolverine before it was cool, I watched as Superman died and returned, and huddled under the covers as I turned the pages of SANDMAN. Reading is like oxygen to me, and all genres and formats are welcome and devoured equally. I am the co-host of The DW and Incredible Jeff Show, CEO of Permian Productions, and a reviewer at Graphic Novel Reporter. I am 34 and live in scenic Saratoga Springs New York, where I haunt coffee shops and dive bars and the best comic shop anywhere, The Comic Depot.
